A Whole Person Approach that Delivers Results for Our Community
Arin has lived in the Piedmont area of North Carolina from age five. He has lived in the Rowan County area with his wife, Anna, and their four children since 2005. As a father, improving our education system is a top priority for Arin.
Arin is a veteran of the United States Navy who served in Yokosuka, Japan. His oldest son Joseph is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Arin is very concerned about issues affecting service members, veterans, and their families.
Currently, Arin works as a Community Engagement Specialist with Cardinal Innovations Healthcare where he works with community members to address issues such as the opioid crisis, mental health, substance use, intellectual/developmental disabilities, whole person health, and resiliency for school age children. Arin is both a Qualified Mental Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Professional. He is a certified instructor in multiple types of Mental Health First Aid as well as QPR Suicide Prevention Training which he provides to our local school systems, law enforcement, as well as other agencies and the general public in Rowan and Stanly Counties. Prior to joining Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Arin was a Residential Counselor for neglected, abused, and delinquent youth for over 7 years.
Arin is a graduate of Asheboro High School as well as Tingvallagymnasiet in Karlstad, Sweden where he was a foreign exchange student. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California Coast University and a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Hood Theological Seminary.
Arin served the citizens of Granite Quarry as an Alderman for 4 years where he gained experience in and a knowledge of local government. He also served on the Cabarrus-Rowan Transportation Advisory Committee for 4 years.
Doing his part to improve the lives of those in his community is very important to Arin and so he is an active member of the Healthy Rowan Coalition, and is the chairperson of the Rowan Community Partners, Stanly Community Partners, and Stanly County Suicide Prevention Task Force. These groups work to build collaboration and cooperation between agencies, elected officials, providers, and community members in the areas of healthcare, mental health, substance use, intellectual/developmental disabilities, housing, poverty, nutrition, spiritual health and more.
Arin also enjoys coaching youth soccer and lacrosse.
